Fabiola Beracasa
This may take a while. Fabiola Beracasa's mother's name is Veronica Hearst, but she's not a Hearst herself. Veronica was born to Veronica de Gruyter, the daughter of Princess Fatimah Khanoum and Dutch worthy Wilhelmus de Gruyter, married Alfredo Beracasa, the banking heir and Le Rosey grad, and Maria Fabiola was the result. It was later that Veronica became the third wife of Randolph Apperson Hearst, the last surviving son of William Randolph, father of Patty and grandfather of Amanda, Lydia and Gillian. Fabiola is famous for being a fashion plate but takes her mission in Manhattan society seriously, rather boldly making the proposition that no serious socialite goes to the trouble unless she's got a business interest to promote. In her case, that would be the promotion of Circa, the estate jewelry dealer. She "broke all the rules of society," one chronicler lamented, when she hired Nadine Johnson to draw up guest lists for parties meant to celebrate the brand--ensuring the presence of her society friends and plenty of photographers. Perhaps most tellingly, she entered the Circa fold first when she went to them to try to unload a Rolex.
